At 2:46 a.m. on July 25, Justin Sun, the founder of TRON and Peiwo APP, the winner of Buffett’s lunch bid, posted a letter of apology on his official Weibo.  “In the past period of time, this was the darkest moment when I was ill and sick," Sun wrote. "I have experienced unprecedented turmoil, doubts and pain in my life. I stayed up all night. I have deeply reflected on my past words and deeds. I feel deeply guilty for my excessive marketing and hyping behavior. Here I would like to express my most sincere apology to the public, the media, and the leaders and regulatory agencies who care about me! ” In his letter of apology, Justin Sun said that the Buffett lunch originated from his admiration for Buffett and his love for charity, and also had some selfish motives for promoting the blockchain industry and himself. However, due to his immature words and deeds, his youthful energy, and his unbridled speech, it gradually evolved into an over-marketing that was out of control, stalled, and failed. In his letter of apology, Justin Sun also mentioned Caixin, a domestic media outlet that had previously reported that he was under border control. Caixin pointed out in the report that the Office of the National Internet Financial Risks Special Rectification Group has recommended that the public security organs open an investigation into Sun Yuchen’s suspected illegal fund-raising, money laundering, pornography, gambling and other issues. In his letter of apology, Justin Sun stated that he felt sincere and apprehensive to be able to communicate with Caixin, and was willing to communicate with Caixin in a transparent and unreserved manner regarding his business and industry development. Sun Yuchen also mentioned Wang Xiaochuan, who had had a war of words with him before. He once said on social media, “On November 24, 2014, Wang Xiaochuan and I recorded a program. I will never forget the way he looked at the liar. He said that I was a liar and would definitely fail. It was a shame to record a program with me... Later, within three years, my company's market value exceeded Sogou's. ”Justin Sun also said in interviews with the media that he is an entrepreneur, while Wang Xiaochuan is essentially a migrant worker. In the letter of apology, Sun Yuchen said that he deeply regretted these vulgar hype and marketing behaviors afterwards, once again expressed his most sincere apology to Wang Xiaochuan, and hoped to gain his understanding. It is worth noting that in the apology letter, Sun Yuchen mentioned the regulatory agencies 9 times and also expressed his apology to the regulatory agencies in a natural paragraph.
