On Sunday, cryptocurrency billionaire Justin Sun posted on X that he would pay Musk $30 million if he would chat with him alone for an hour. This is 6 times the price of his previous lunch with Buffett! At the same time, he also @Musk, but so far Musk has not responded.  Sun previously recalled that Buffett himself had described Musk as "a great entrepreneur" despite his skepticism about Tesla's investment prospects. Now, Sun appears eager to speak directly to Musk, suggesting a private conversation could be worth more than any financial asset.  Justin Sun is the founder of TRON, a high-throughput blockchain network that has become the primary settlement layer for stablecoins, decentralized finance, and on-chain payments. He later acquired BitTorrent, integrated it into the TRON ecosystem, and expanded its global reach. TRON’s trading volume has consistently ranked among the most active blockchains. Justin Sun himself has become one of the most high-profile and controversial figures in the cryptocurrency space. Forbes estimates Sun's net worth at $8.5 billion, making him the 409th richest person in history. Justin Sun is also known for squandering money for symbolic purposes. In 2024, he paid $6.2 million to buy and eat Maurizio Cattelan's Comedian, a banana taped to the wall that he later described as a symbol of value, absurdity and attention in the modern marketplace.   One of Sun's most famous transactions occurred in 2019, when he paid $4,567,888 for the opportunity to have lunch with Warren Buffett. Buffett is one of Bitcoin's most vocal critics. After months of delays and speculation, the dinner was finally held in Omaha, Nebraska, in January 2020. Sun Yuchen posted a review of the meeting, calling it "one of the best moments of my life."  During the dinner, Sun presented several gifts to Buffett, including a smartphone preloaded with cryptocurrency. “Of course, there is also a Samsung Galaxy Fold 2 with the TRON blockchain built-in, which contains 1 Bitcoin, 1,930,830 TRX, 100 BTT, 100 WIN, and 100 TRC20-USDT,” Sun wrote, noting that the amount of TRX matches Buffett’s birthday. Justin Sun also demonstrated blockchain transactions live at the meeting. He wrote: “45.67888 TRX was transferred immediately. ” “Mr. Buffett was very happy to see the transfer completed and said that blockchain does have its value. ” Although Buffett remains skeptical of Bitcoin as an investment, Sun said that Buffett has clearly distinguished the crypto asset from its underlying technology. Justin Sun wrote: “Mr. Buffett has said that blockchain has its value. There are many very good companies in the payments market, and the market demand is huge. ” According to Justin Sun, Buffett believes blockchain technology will have a "disruptive impact on the future of payments," even if he still favors traditional productive assets over cryptocurrencies.
