Cryptocurrency company Ripple Labs Inc. is negotiating to lease high-rise space in Brookfield Group's new London skyscraper. If the deal is completed, it will occupy one of the most expensive office areas in the City of England. According to people familiar with the matter, Ripple plans to lease approximately 90,000 square feet (8,361.3 square meters) of office space in Leadenhall Building in the City of London. The owner of the 35-storey building, developed by Brookfield, is reportedly quoting rents of up to £140 ($187.33) per square foot, making it one of the most expensive office spaces in the financial district and comparable to rents in high-end areas of Mayfair. The people involved requested anonymity because the negotiations are private. Ripple has more than 900 employees in 15 offices around the world and provides digital asset payment and custody services to banks and financial institutions. |
