On October 28, 2025, the Solana Accelerate APAC Shenzhen event ended unexpectedly early, and the originally planned Hackathon Demo display session was canceled, triggering many speculations in the industry. Different from the market's association with "regulatory intervention" and "compliance risk", the core reason for the interruption of this event is actually a public safety episode caused by the popularity.  The event was more popular than expected and was the trigger. As a key stop of Solana's five-city Chinese ecological roadshow tour, this event attracted a large number of Web3 developers, investors and enthusiasts to participate, and the actual number of attendees far exceeded the organizer's preset scale. The crowded scene made some participants who were not qualified to enter the venue dissatisfied and lodged complaints. After receiving the feedback, the local police station went to the scene to conduct routine inquiries.  Public safety considerations drive the final decision. After communication between the organizer and the police, it was confirmed that there was clear overcrowding at the site, which did not meet the safety management requirements of public gathering places. In order to avoid potential risks such as crowding and stampedes, the organizers finally decided to terminate the follow-up session at 5 pm that day, giving priority to ensuring the safety of on-site personnel rather than policy restrictions or compliance issues with online transmission.  The incident did not affect Solana’s Chinese ecological layout. Regarding the interruption of the event, Solana responded that the Greater China trip has been successfully concluded and will continue to promote the ecological construction and technology popularization of Chinese developers in the future. This episode just confirms Solana's high attention in the Chinese market. Its subsequent technological upgrades and ecological expansion around AI, DePIN and other tracks will continue to be the focus of the industry. |
